FromSoftware has released an in-depth look at Armored Core VI’s gameplay. The 13-minute gameplay video of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon shows off challenging battle sequences, armored core movement capabilities and customisation options. FromSoftware, which is also the developer behind franchises like Elden Ring and Bloodborne, has maintained that fans should not expect the mechanics of Soulsborne from the revival of the Armored Core franchise.
Fires of Rubicon's new video proves that the game offers a different experience, be it vis-a-vis mission structure and guidance from NPCs or freeform movement.

FromSoftware Scales Up Production Value Of New Titles Post Elden Ring's Success
In AC6 players take up the mantle of 621, a bioengineered human whose only purpose is to pilot mechs under the guidance of their handler, Walter. Players will be fighting for control of the mysterious resource native to the planet Rubicon. They can customise Armored Core parts to suit a large variety of playstyles, which affects the mech’s attacks, along with the movement and battle style. Unique mech strategies and defensive tactics will be key in defeating enemy bosses.
While the past entries by the developers have been quite low-budget, fans have noted that the success of Elden Ring has helped the Japanese developer to upgrade the production values with Armored Core VI. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice director Masaru Yamamura is helming the new Armored Core, and recently revealed that the successful samurai action game and Armored Core 6 share the same essence of battle especially considering they both feature action-oriented fighting.
"Players will break enemy mechs' posture, he said, letting them strike with critical hits. “This is the starting point for the slow and fast speed change of the battle, and when combined with long-range firefighting and close-range melee combat, the enemy and his machine engage each other violently, creating a more aggressive and dynamic battle that only mechas can engage in,” Yamamura explained.
