After two years, Ubisoft has finally revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows, previously known as Codenamed Red, to the fans with a world premiere cinematic premiere featuring the two assassins of the time. Assassin's Creed Shadows is the next mainline entry in the series, featuring two different protagonists who will explore their own stories.
Gamers will experience the stories of Naoe, a shinobi assassin from the Iga province, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai legend who has carved his name in history with his deeds. Assassin's Creed Shadows will be available worldwide on November 15, 2024. Gamers who purchase the Ultimate Edition can get access to the game three days early.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Takes Gamers to Feudal Japan
Feudal Japan is a setting Assassin's Creed fans have been asking for ages, with Shadows, Ubisoft Québec has finally delivered on that request after a long wait. Assassin's Creed Shadows brings back the double-protagonist dynamic after Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which was released in 2015. While later games like Origins also let one play as another assassin, it is only for a short while. Gamers are still wondering how the dynamic will work, and if it will be very similar to the Evie/Jacob gameplay loop from Syndicate.
With Assassin's Creed Shadows, gamers will head into 16th-century Japan, exploring a land full of culture, war, and disputes. As players go through the intertwined stories of Naoe and Yasuke, one will come across many personal stories of the residents and meet important historical figures of the time. Assassin's Creed Shadows is promised to feature a vastly different landscape from the previous games, as one will also go through the open world with a variety of landscapes and evolve through weather and seasons. A similar weather and season cycle was also used in Assassin's Creed 3 (2012), where the weather and seasons kept changing as Connor's story moved forward. One can expect a spectacular package of castles, towns, and landscapes while exploring feudal Japan with Shadows.
Who are the New Protagonists in Assassin's Creed Shadows?
There is very little information available about the two new protagonists of Assassin's Creed Shadows. The official trailer did not reveal any gameplay footage for the characters; however, fans can expect something soon in the coming months. In a recent developer video, Ubisoft mentioned that Naoe is a farmer assassin and the daughter of Fubayashi Nagato, a historically popular Ninja.
For Yasuke, developers took on the historical figure who arrived in Japan and stayed with the Oda. That said, one can expect Naoe to be the stealthier assassin as she possesses more abilities catering to low-profile gameplay. Moving on to Yasuke, the legendary samurai brings exceptional combat prowess, and will offer plenty of ways to approach an objective in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
