Day one of the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 was filled with intense CS2 action, with the four Counter-Strike going head to head on LAN at Messe Global Pune Laxmi Lawns. Aurora Gaming showcased a phenomenal comeback against Bad News Kangaroo to win their first match of the LAN with a 2-0. Gods Reign, the winner of the Indian Qualifier, defeated the Indonesian giants, Garuda Wisnu Voyage, in a dominating fashion. Skyesports Grand Slam 2024: Day One Recap
The day started with the Russian side, Aurora Gaming, taking on the Aussies, Bad News Kangaroos. Bad News Kangaroos started strong on the first map of Overpass, and with their 9-3 lead in the first half, it seemed they might destroy and win the series. Aurora Gaming showcased their full potential in the second half as they demolished Kangaroos’ defence to win the map of Overpass with a 13-11 scoreline. Aurora Gaming carried their momentum in the second map of Inferno and decimated Kangaroos to win the map of Inferno with a 13-4 scoreline and advance to the upper bracket finals.
For the second game of the day, Gods Reign went against Garuda Wisnu Voyaga. Gods Reign took control of the first map of Vertigo with their attacking stance. With a 10-2 trail, Garuda looked helpless, and Gods Reign won the map of Vertigo with a 13-6 scoreline. Anubis was the second map of the series, with Gods Reign continuing their domination with back-to-back round wins. Gods Reign secured an 11-1 scoreline in the first half, and without losing another round, Gods Reign won the series and secured their match against Aurora Gaming.
On day two of the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024, Aurora Gaming and Gods Reign will compete in the upper bracket finals, and Garuda Wisnu Voyage will go against Bad News Kangaroos. Fans can watch the matches live on Skyesports’ official YouTube channel.
