Bethesda has recently teased a few massive changes for their latest space epic, Starfield, that may come in 2024. These changes will include the ongoing quest fixes that the game direly needs alongside FSR3 and XeSS support. Aside from this, the most crucial part of the tease is the 'all-new ways of travelling' as gamers journey through the thousands of planets.
After its rocky launch on September 2023, Bethesda has been constantly pushing updates to fix the various issues in the game and deliver an optimal experience to the fans. In the recent update, Bethesda fixed many game-breaking bugs and crash issues. However, things became more interesting as the developers posted in the official Starfield subreddit, mentioning their plans for next year.

Starfield May Receive New Ways of Traversing in 2024 According to Bethesda's Recent Tease
Bethesda's message stated that they have been working on various issues that fans have complained about since Starfield's launch two months ago. Moreover, fans can expect an update as early as next year that will fix a large number of 'in-progress' quest bugs and support for FSR3 and XeSS.
Bethesda also stated that they are hard at work on many new fan-requested features, such as city maps, mod support, and new ways of traveling. While the developers did not elaborate on the last part, Starfield players have already started speculating the changes they will possibly roll out early next year.
Why is a Travelling Update Long Overdue for Starfield?
Starfield has one of the most intriguing and enthralling spacecraft customization systems in video games. Despite having that, the title severely lacks the charm of traveling in space. Exploration and space travel was heavily criticized by fans as most players depended on fast travel and walking on planets instead of using the actual spaceship.
On top of that, most space travel sequences are filled with mini-cutscenes which takes away the freedom of using the spacecraft from players. With all these complaints, Bethesda has possibly concluded to offer a better travelling system in Starfield.
The post did not disclose anything more regarding the future update; however, fans on the web suspect that the developers may overhaul or revamp the entire space travel structure.
Modders have been hard at work when it comes to 'fixing' Starfield with many new features since its launch. Mods like the Slower Than Light have allowed gamers to travel seamlessly between planets and worlds in the game. That said, an official way to improve the traversal is something fans have been longing for.
