Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Campaign Details Breakdown
Activision revealed the first mission of the Modern Warfare III campaign earlier this week, called Operation 627. The gameplay was a traditional cinematic experience that introduced COD fans to the next adventure in the rebooted MW universe. The gameplay showed a player filling the shoes of an elite PMC fireteam member. The group undertook the impossible task of invading a fortress in a popular COD location, Verdansk. Operation 627 then showcased various gadgets in the MWIII arsenal, including Night Vision Goggles (NVGs), suppressed weapons, and smoke grenades.
The showcase perfectly exemplifies how the Open Combat Missions will work in the game. Players will be able to take up various routes approaching their target. This feature sets the MWIII campaign apart from the rest of the COD games, as this is the first time players have the option to let go of the traditional linearity.
The conclusion of the reveal explored a cinematic where the fireteam finally reaches the bottom of the fortress, attempting to rescue the prisoner behind a sealed interior door. As of now, it is still a mystery as to who the character could be. Activision stated that one will have to wait until the Campaign Early Access before progressing into the part of the story.
Call of Duty Next to Reveal More Campaign and Multiplayer Details
Call of Duty Next will reveal more details regarding Modern Warfare III's campaign and multiplayer. The showcase will go live on October 5, 2023, where fans can catch the event through Call of Duty's official handles on both YouTube and Twitch. Call of Duty Next will commence through the efforts of developers and community representatives, which will premiere the multiplayer for Modern Warfare III. The premier will also showcase content for Warzone.
The most recent additions, like the Nicki Minaj cosmetic set added to Warzone 2, Activision has already stated that players can carry their items onto the next game, including the base multiplayer mode.
