After a series of internal changes at CD Projekt Red, former CEO and current Chief Strategy Officer Adam Kiciński shares multiple updates about the Polish studio's future in his interview with Parkiet. Adam talks about their future projects and clears the air around CD Projekt Red's acquisition. The CSO mentions how CDPR enjoys its freedom and has come a long way to becoming self-sustainable.
CD Projekt Red, a subsidiary of the publisher CD Projekt, is the developer of popular games like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. While Cyberpunk 2077 had a disastrous launch, the Polish studio ensured to improve the game via subsequent updates and made Cyberpunk 2077 one of the best open-world games.

"We Value Independence": Adam Kiciński, Chief Strategy Officer Of CD Projekt Red, When Asked About Being Acquired
CD Projekt Red is one studio that emphasises creating a few impactful games over releasing new titles yearly. The Polish studio lived by this philosophy and created games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. In between, it was said that Xbox and PlayStation were looking to acquire studios, and amidst CDPR's successful run, the Polish studio could be on their checklist. Responding to the acquisition rumours, Adam says:
It's just rumors. We have always had a clear position supported by regulations in the statute. We are not interested in including us in some larger entity. We've worked all our lives for the position we have now. And we will be even bigger and stronger in a few years. We have ambitious plans, and what we do turns us on. We value independence. Independence is appealing; it's a kind of freedom.
Since CD Projekt Red has become one of the top Polish studios, they are open to acquiring other studios that will complement their work and accelerate their progress. Adam highlights their take on adding a new studio under CDPR by saying:
We are not planning acquisitions at the moment. Of course, we are open to ideas that could accelerate the implementation of our strategy. But we are not interested in purchases that would only aim to include acquired companies in our group and consolidate their financial results. We see no value in this.
Adam also shares a couple of CD Projekt Red's projects, which are under development, and the studio is actively working at different phases on each project. A few of the projects mentioned by the CSO are Polaris or The Witcher 4, which is already in the works and will be followed by Witch 5 and 6, completing the series' trilogy. CDPR also plans to release Cyberpunk 2077's sequel, Orion, which is yet to start since the studio is looking to grow their workforce for their next big title.
