Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Takes Place After the Events of the Campaign
Phantom Liberty has been billed as a 'spy-thriller expansion.' It's worth noting that the expansion will only be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S and not on last-gen consoles. The franchise has a messy history with launches since it has previously had a lot of issues on Playstations and earlier Xbox consoles.
The flashy trailer starts off with a shot of Johnny Silverhand overlooking the city from an aerial vehicle. A female character named Songbird's voice-over is heard in the background, who's believed to be communicating with the President. "I'm a NUSA Intelligence Analyst. I know about the bomb ticking in your head. And I can save your life," she is heard saying.
An oversized screen is then shown with a blasting voice that relayed the message that the Prez has crashed her Air Force One into their district. Elba's character gets some cool one-liners as well and a pretty great armour. Despite its rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 had managed to sell more than 20 million copies by 2022 and the Netflix outing helped reach the game to newer demographics. Phantom Liberty is currently developing the next game in the series, tentatively titled Orion.
