In early November, a handful of games, including Resident Evil 4 Remake and Death Stranding Director's Cut were announced for the OS and MacOS base by the end of the year. Gamers were pretty excited by the news of AAA titles coming to smartphones with accessibility options. 505 Games has confirmed that Death Stranding Director's Cut edition will come out in 2024. The publisher has stated that they need more time before confirming a release window. In the official statement, the publisher also claimed that they will announce a new release date in 2024.
Death Stranding Director's Cut Edition For iOS and Mac Delayed to 2024
Death Stranding initially came out in November 2019 for the PlayStation 4. A year later, the game launched for Windows in July 2020. Upon launch, the title met mixed reviews from critics and fans; however, designer and director Hideo Kojima stated that the title was set to deliver a different genre to gamers. Since its launch, Death Stranding has amassed a solid fanbase, with gamers expecting a sequel soon. Kojima revealed a teaser for the sequel back in 2022 to an excited audience at the The Game Awards. Following the reveal, gamers also got the iOS and Mac announcements from Apple for the Director's Cut. That said, iOS and MacOS gamers will likely have to wait a bit more before they can enjoy Death Stranding on their platforms.
The Director's Cut edition for Death Stranding will be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPads. For Macs, gamers must have a M1 chip or better to run it. Kojima Productions announced the support for Apple platforms during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2023. Hideo Kojima has also mentioned that his team is actively working on bringing future titles to Apple platforms. The Japanese creator has always been a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry. While working with Konami, Kojima has delivered some of the best stealth-action games to fans with the Metal Gear saga. Furthermore, Death Stranding takes the storytelling and narrative up a notch.
Kojima Productions has a lot on its plate at the moment with the upcoming Death Stranding sequel and a horror title called OD. It can be difficult for them to actively work on an iOS and MacOS port for Death Stranding. However, 505 Games has promised to soon announce a release date.
