Popular first-person tactical shooter Delta Force, which the developers abandoned 14 years ago, is set to be revived by corporate giant Tencent. 2009's Delta Force: Xtreme 2 was the last title fans could enjoy. Following the release, NovaLogic dissolved in 2016, with THQ Nordic acquiring its assets. On August 18, Tencent dropped a short teaser for the upcoming game in the series.

New Delta Force Game Announced After Fourteen Years by Tencent
Developers will reveal the new Delta Force game at the Gamescom Opening Night on August 22, 2023. The 30-second teaser rounded up a good chunk of the game, showing fans how advanced the upcoming title will be. Inspired by labels like the Battlefield franchise, the upcoming title will feature large-scale destructions alongside intense vehicular combat. The teaser showcased multiple modern weapons, such as the Compound Bow and Anti-tank weapons, and tactical gameplay from games like Insurgency: Sandstorm and Squad. From a visual standpoint, the game looks phenomenal. However, the clip showcased pre-alpha footage, meaning the title can undergo changes before its official launch.
The game will be available for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows (Through Steam and Epic), iOS, and Android. Most importantly, the developers will support a fully functional cross-platform feature between all the platforms. This feature will make the upcoming title one of the first full-fledged multiplayer games to support PC and Mobile crossplay. The title is under development at the Tencent Timi Studio Group, where developers are still working on the full launch. Tencent producer Shadow Guo mentioned that the title will also feature a campaign inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down directed by Ridley Scott.
According to the producer, fans can experience authentic and thrilling battles inspired by the movie. He also stated that the development team has extensively studied the film to dive into the 'historical context.' Fans can also expect the game to incorporate a large-scale PvP battle with a 32-player limit. This game mode mimics the classic Battlefield gameplay with a solid touch of tactical realism.
