After a nail-biting grand finale of the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024, the 100th IEM, G2 Esports defeated Team Vitality to lift the IEM Dallas trophy. The tournament featured the return of Stewie2K in Counter-Strike esports, alongside the star player NiKo taking on the IGL role for the team.
The grand finale was a perfect revenge for G2 Esports as they were pushed into the lower brackets of the Group Stage by Team Vitality. G2 Esports defeated Team Vitality with a 2-1 scoreline to grab the championship title, the lion’s share of the $250,000 prize pool, and a direct entry to IEM Cologne 2024. m0NESY grabbed the MVP title for his extraordinary performance at the IEM Dallas 2024.

Stewie2K Grabs His First S-Tier Trophy Since 2019 As G2 Esports Wins The Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024
G2 Esports entered the IEM Dallas 2024 with Stewie2K as a stand-in for HooXi, who missed the tournament to attend his sister’s wedding. The return of Stewie2K into CS2 esports added a wave of excitement to the Counter-Strike fans. With Stewie2K in the lineup and Niko leading the team, G2 Esports hit a boulder in the group stages against Team Vitality. After Vitality bumped G2 into the lower brackets, the team showed resilience and defeated MOUZ and Team Liquid to enter the playoffs.
In the quarterfinals, G2 Esports decimated FaZe Clan with a 2-0 victory as m0NESY was the MVP of the game. G2 carried their momentum into the semifinals as the Group B winner’s 9z Team couldn’t tackle G2’s aggression, and with a 2-0 victory, G2 advanced into the grand final. Team Vitality showcased a similar run against HEROIC and Team Spirit and joined G2 Esports in the tournament’s finale.
In the grand final, G2 Esports wanted to take revenge for their loss in the group stage. Both the teams entered the map of Inferno, where G2 Esports secured an early lead but failed to consolidate on it, resulting in overtime. G2 didn’t let the map slip from their hands and won the game with a 19-16 scoreline in the second overtime.
In the second map of Anubis, Team Vitality replicated the first map, but this time, the game was in their favour. After losing the early lead and getting pushed into the overtime, Vitality locked Anubis in the first overtime to equalise the scoreline. In the decider map of Nuke, both the teams went neck-to-neck in the first half, as the scoreline read 6-6. G2 Esports pushed themselves to the extreme to decimate Vitality in the second half and win the map with a 13-8 scoreline. With the Nuke victory, G2 Esports won the IEM Dallas 2024, the 100th IEM event, with m0NESY as the MVP.
IEM Dallas 2024 was the 100th IEM event and featured a $250,000 prize pool. G2 Esports grabbed $100,000 out of the $250,000 prize pool, 1,400 BLAST Premier points, and a direct entry into the IEM Cologne 2024.
