OG, one of the most prolific and decorated organizations playing Dota 2, has been eliminated from Riyadh Masters, leaving fans starved of the much-anticipated OG domination they have come to expect of the organization. The team struggled to hold their own through the Play-Ins, just managing to defeat Entity and securing their Group Stages spot.
OG was ultimately not able to hold their ground and lost their matchup against the reigning dominant force in Dota 2, Gaimin Gladiators. So far, Gladiators have won all major International tournaments, conquering the world of competitive Dota 2 in a big way. Many had felt that OG was coming in as a massive underdog in the matchup, yet, the fans expected the team to put up more of a fight. The favourites, Gaimin Gladiators, put up a blistering performance, winning the 2 rounds in devastating fashion.

Gaimin Gladiators Put OG’s Riyadh Masters Dream To An End
Throughout the tournament, OG maintained a super-balanced draw record. However, after having lost their matches against GG and PSG.LGD, the team was eliminated from the tournament. In order to stay in the tournament, the team would have had to defeat Gladiators with a clean 2-0 scoreline, thus forcing a tiebreaker, and staying alive to fight another day. However, as expected, their matchup against GG turned out to be a quite one-sided one where the 3-time International winners showed exactly why they are the team to chase after in the competitive Dota 2 community.
Despite their loss, fans got to experience the legendary player Sébastien "Ceb" Debs playing once again, live on stage. Ceb is widely regarded as one of the most iconic players of the game, with a massive fan following across the globe. Now that OG is out of the tournament, it will be interesting to see how they prepare for the upcoming The International 12 Open Qualifiers against other strong teams.
