Indus, the much-hyped made-in-India battle royale developed by Pune-based developer, SuperGaming, has introduced its latest addition to the game. On the occasion of Diwali, a new playable character named Pokhran has been revealed. This is consistent with the yet-to-be-released game's distinctive practice of announcing major upgrades around Indian holidays. The closed beta release date is unknown, but it is likely to be during this holiday season and the character will play an important role in the game. According to the game's mythology, Homi J. Bhabha designed the new hero. The game itself aims to delve into India's history and culture, whereas the release of Pokhran aims to honor one of India's most important scientists of all time.

Pokhran is depicted in-game as a nuclear automaton constructed by Homi J. Bhabha, a historical figure known for his vital role in India's pursuit of nuclear independence. Bhabha, known as the 'Father of the Indian Nuclear Programme,' was instrumental in the country's nuclear research, leading to advances in both energy production and the historic nuclear detonation in 1974. The made-in-India battle royale game aims to promote Bhabha's achievements through gameplay, and Pokhran is just one of many heroes who will represent India's history and culture.
SuperGaming shared a video of the new character on its social media pages. Pokhran appears to be an explosive character who can assist gamers in pushing past waves of opponents. The Indus battle royale was created for use on many devices, including mobile, PC, and consoles. For Android users, pre-registration is currently accessible on Google Play.
Indus won the Most Popular Game Award at the India Game Developer Conference (IGDC). In other significant news, SuperGaming stated that Indus would make its debut on the highly famous gaming platform, Fortnite. A two-person team at SuperGaming achieved this crossover endeavor in just 27 days using Epic Games' Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
A lot of battle royale enthusiasts have been looking forward to SuperGaming's Indo-Futuristic combat royale Indus. The game will enter a closed beta in the coming days, according to the Indian developer. The game is intended to include the standard battle royale mode as well as various other features that have been tried and proven to be effective in past community playtests.
Christelle D'cruz, co-founder of SuperGaming, emphasized the speedy development process, saying:
We learned, built, and created Indus with UEFN in about 27 days with no prior Unreal experience. This will allow us to test Indus' gameplay with external audiences faster and give more gamers a chance to experience Indo-Futurism through their game of choice — Fortnite.
