Instagram has announced that it is expanding a temporary away status-like feature. Users will now be able to leave Notes on Reels and grid posts, where their comments will show up on top of the content in small bubbles.
Similar to Notes, these comments are temporary -- they’ll disappear after three days unless users delete them earlier. The new temporary comments are also semiprivate, and users can tailor who’s able to see their comments; either users’ curated list of close friends or followers they follow back.

Comments Will Appear Like Stickers On Top
As far as the screenshots are concerned, it also seems as though users will be able to tag each other in Notes on Reels and Posts. They’re basically hidden comments for a small audience.
When users encounter Reels and posts with Notes from Friends, those comments will show up almost like a sticker on top of the content. The feature is clearly meant to tap into the more private ways people interact with Instagram, like DMing with close ones. Being able to see what your friends are saying on the platform without having to scroll through comments could be a welcomed feature.
At the same time, it could be a concern for some people to know that people can leave comments they won’t be able to see on their posts. Also, there are concerns that the feature could facilitate bullying or harassment, especially if the creator of the content can’t see Notes.
Meta spokesperson Christine Pai clarified that users can turn off the Notes feature on their content if they want. Notes on posts and Reels have already started rolling out for users.

Instagram Brings Multi-Audio Track Support For Reels
Instagram has announced a new multi-track audio support for Reels. The new feature comes days after the platform head Adam Mosseri stated that Instagram would prioritize short-form content over long videos.
With the launch of this new functionality for Instagram Reels, users will now be able to add multiple audio tracks in a single Instagram Reel, allowing them to produce creative mixes using their smartphone.
Mosseri announced the rollout of multi-audio track support via a post on the platform, stating that users can add up to 20 tracks to a single Reel, giving users more creative freedom to make content. They can align the audio with text, and edit the Reel with stickers, clips, and other items. The audio clips can also overlap, and the app will generate a fade effect.
