LG announced the latest generation of its wireless OLED TV -- the LG OLED Evo M4 -- started its official rollout on July 1. The new model brings two big changes that could see it find a home where gamers live. The first is the addition of 4K video at 144Hz.
While it might not be a big deal for people who primarily watch movies and TV shows, it’s a significant change for gaming enthusiasts who enjoy high-frame-rate titles. With native support for a 144Hz refresh rate, these games are going to look even smoother than they did on the OLED Evo M3, which topped out at 4K/120Hz. It’s imperative to note that the biggest M4 -- the 97-inch model -- is still limited to 4K/120Hz.
As for the size, that’s the other big change, but it’s not about going bigger, but smaller. The M4 is now the first wireless OLED TV users can buy in a 65-inch screen size -- the smallest wireless OLED TV so far.

LG M4 Wireless OLED TV Specifications
LG hasn’t added the new M4 Wireless OLED TV to its US website, so there’s no confirmation on the pricing and shipping dates, but an educated guess can be made judging by LG’s Hong Kong website, which lists the 65-inch M4 at 44,980 Hong Kong dollars.
LG claims the new M4 also gets the new α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor, which is also seen on LG’s other 2024 OLED models, like the new OLED G4. How does the new processor matter? Well, it does.
These new features are on top of the M-series's big draw -- that it can do fully wireless audio and video -- enabling users to mount the panel almost anywhere they can find a power outlet, no HDMI cables needed.

LG Halts Partnership With Meta For XR Glasses
LG seems to be putting a hold on its partnership with Meta to develop an extended reality (XR) device that would challenge Apple’s Vision Pro headset, just three months after announcing the joint venture.
While multiple Korean news outlets are reporting that Meta's partnership has been off due to a lack of “synergy” between the two tech giants, LG has denied calling off the deal. “LG Electronics continues the XR partnership with Meta forged in February but is controlling its pace,” LG said in a statement to Korea JoongAng Daily.
Products from the partnership, are set to combine Meta’s Horizon Worlds mixer reality platform with content and services from LG’s TV business. The new XR headset was said to hit the market next year. The potential for on-device AI integration was also being explored using Meta’s LLMs (large language models).
