MLT Esports wins the Valorant Challengers League 2024 South Asia: Split 1 Cup 2 grand finals against True Rippers. MLT Esports’ victory marks the end of the five-month-long Split 1 tournament, with MLT Esports grabbing 500 crucial circuit points and the lion’s share of the $66,000 prize pool.
True Rippers and MLT Esports looked strong to clench the VCL SA: Cup 2 title with them, but MLT Esports annihilated True Rippers in the grand finals with a clean 3-0 scoreline. The top six teams from Split 1 will advance into Split 2 and will be joined by two teams from Promotion/Relegation.

MLT Esports Defeated True Rippers In The Grand Finals To Win The VCL 2024 South Asia: Split 1 Cup 2
In the regular season, True Rippers finished on top of the leaderboard, whereas MLT Esports came third. True Rippers had already defeated MLT Esports once in the regular season, and it was time for MLT to redeem themselves. In the semifinals, MLT Esports defeated the fan favourite Revenant Esports with a 2-0 scoreline, and True Rippers showcased a similar domination over Grayfox Esports.
In the grand finals, MLT Esports looked ferocious against True Rippers. The best-of-five finale started with MLT’s pick of Ascent. While True Rippers managed to secure the initial rounds, MLT Esports decimated them in the subsequent rounds, resulting in an 8-4 first half in favour of MLT Esports. MLT consolidated their lead into a 13-7 victory, thus securing the first map.
On the second map of Split, True Rippers struggled to close rounds. MLT Esports won back-to-back rounds to secure a 10-2 half, followed by three other rounds in the second half to close a 13-2 victory on Split. MLT Esports carried their momentum on the third map of Breeze, where they won six rounds back-to-back rounds before conceding a round to True Rippers. It was a 9-3 half, and fans were hoping for a 9-3 curse as True Rippers won four more rounds. Thanks to the big lead, MLT Esports converted the lead into a 13-7 victory soon and won the grand finals without dropping a single map.
