Black Myth: Wukong finally has a trailer. Game Science's action RPG based on the classic 16th-century Chinese novel Journey To The West released a 2:25-minute trailer during the Opening Night Live of the gaming convention Gamescom. The game was announced three years ago but the developer had shared very little information about the title, besides a few snippets and a gameplay trailer in 2021. The new trailer kicks off with a headless bard singing on an ancient string instrument and pans out to show flying warriors and the Monkey King, the highly acrobatic protagonist of the game.
The game is a Soulslike and heavily features elements from Chinese folklore and mythology. The trailer also features other non-human warriors, including large insects and a tiger beast (possibly the Tiger Vanguard). The trailer has a focus on the various combat styles and gives a good look at the many boss fights and the locations that will be available for players. Black Myth: Wukong has been built on Unreal Engine 5 and some locations and assets are noticeably linear and more playable.

Black Myth: Wukong Will Support Ray Tracing And DLSS 3 At Launch
The Monkey King Sun Wukong and his strengths are big draws for the players. In the source material, Wukong is born from a stoner and acquires supernatural powers from Taoist practises. He wields a staff that can adapt to the attack and the foe at hand. The first impressions of the game have revealed that the boss fights ramp up the difficulty with each level. Wukong, who is also known as the Destined One, will be able to combine different spells, weapons, and equipment to suit the player's combat style.
The RPG reportedly offer 72 different abilities and will also support Ray Tracing & DLSS 3 at launch. The game is aimed at next-gen consoles like PS5, and Xbox Series X/S and PC. Older generation consoles like the PlayStation 4 will be receiving a release as well. Though there is no final confirmation on the release date, the title is reportedly eyeing a Summer 2024 release.
