SuperGaming's Made-in-India Battle Royale Indus Announced New Rajasthani Hero Ahead of Closed Beta
SuperGaming has revealed a new hero, Mech Balika, and her unique design with a new trailer. The hero is a robot who once was made to entertain and dance to the will of her creators. Her backstory is a unique take on an Indian hero in a video game that perfectly fits her design. In the trailer, developers described her as a skilful robot who can use her dancing prowess to advantage in combat. Not only does this make her a dangerous threat on the battlefield, but it also gives her a team advantage in play.
The trailer did not dive deeper into her abilities or any unique utility in her kit. However, one can spot the blades attached to her arms that she can use in-game. Mech Balika is deeply inspired by the Rajasthani Culture as she was introduced in the trailer with a catchy song describing her attire and background.
Her headgear features a typical Rajasthani face wearing a Ghagra Choli attire. The Kathputli, or puppet is one of the common toys in the Rajasthani culture that kids often use to entertain themselves. Mech Balika features a similar movement pattern as she also pays homage to the clothing and colour choices of the native state.
When Will Mech Balika Release in Indus Battle Royale?
SuperGaming has stated that Mech Balika will only be available with the full launch of the game which can be the festive season of 2024. They also stated that the hero will not come out with the closed beta.
In August 2023, SuperGaming stated that the closed beta for Indus will consist of many game modes and heroes for fans to try out with new maps. Many gamers also speculated that iOS users may get a chance to pre-register starting from Republic Dat 2024. Judging from the speculations, one can expect the closed beta to launch around late January; however, one will have to wait for official confirmation.
