A top international executive from Oppo has suggested the company’s plans to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities locally for the Indian market. The company aims to boost the AI experience for its users in the country. The executive also said that the company has seen keen interest from Indian consumers in AI-powered features across different price points in their smartphone lineup, as per a report from the Economic Times (ET).
The smartphone OEM plans to customize AI functionalities to suit the preferences and needs of Indian consumers, recognizing the importance of localization in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Oppo’s move reflects the company’s commitment to providing relevant and advanced AI features to its customer base in India, no matter what the price segment of the device, the report further added.

Oppo Recently Unveiled Reno 12 Series In India
Oppo recently took the wraps off of its Reno 12 series in the country. The Reno 12 comes at a starting price of Rs 32,999 for its configuration featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Its elder sibling, the Reno 12 Pro, is available in two variants: a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option priced at Rs 36,999, and a higher-capacity model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, which sells for Rs 40,999. This pricing strategy caters to different needs and budgets within the mid-range smart segment.
The Oppo Reno 12 will be available for purchase starting July 25, with the Reno 12 Pro already available since July 18. Potential buyers will have multiple buying options, as both models will be obtainable through the e-commers platform Flipkart, Oppo’s official online shop, and other brick-and-mortar retail stores across the country.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro, Reno 12 Specifications
The Oppo Reno 12 sports a 6.7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ clarity with a resolution of 2412x1080 pixels. This screen can achieve an impressive peak brightness of 1200 nits. The smartphone also has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
Both variants are powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chipset, a processor built on an advanced 4nm manufacturing process. The chip works in tandem with the Mali-G615 MC2 graphics unit to deliver smooth performance. The Pro model offers better memory options, supporting up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a maximum of 512GB USF 3.1 storage.
Users will be able to expand the Pro’s storage capacity to 1TB using a microSD card. Besides, the standard Reno 12 comes with a more modest 8GB of RAM and tops out at 512GB of internal storage, catering to users with less demanding needs of storage.
