Riyadh Masters 2023 begins today with the top 20 Dota 2 teams from across the world competing for a prize pool of $15,000,000 USD. The Riyadh Masters is the biggest Dota Major only exceeded in prize pool size by The International 2023. Fans will be experiencing two intense days of Dota action before moving on to Group Stages and Playoffs. The Play-ins will take place on 19th and 20th of July. Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2023: Format & Schedule
Riyadh Masters 2023 will feature twenty teams from across the globe. The tournament will be categorized into three parts: Play-Ins, Group Stages, and Playoffs. The Play-Ins will take place between July 19 and July 20. The Play-Ins will have two groups of six teams each where the tournament will be played in a single round-robin format. All the matches will be played in a Best-Of-2 format.
The top two teams from each Group will advance to Group Stage. The third to sixth-placed team will see the third-placed team going up against the sixth-placed team and the fourth-placed team going head-to-head against the fifth-placed team. Winners will advance to the Group Stage and losers will be eliminated. The Group Stage will take place between July 21st and July 24th where two groups of eight teams each will fight it out in a single round-robin format.
All the matches will be played in a Best-of-2 format. The top four teams from each group will move on to the upper bracket of Playoffs while 5th and 6th placed teams move to the Lower Brackets of Playoffs. Playoffs will take place between July 25th and July 30th. The tournament will be played in a double elimination bracket where all matches except the Grand Finals will be played in a Best-of-3 format. The Grand Finals will be played in a Best-Of-5 format.
