Skyesports Grand Slam 2024: Day Two Recap
Day two of Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 featured some crucial matches, including the knockout match between Garuda Wisnu Voyage and Bad News Kangaroos. Bad News Kangaroos overpowered Garuda from the start itself, as they won back-to-back rounds on the map of Mirage to defeat Garuda with a 13-2 scoreline. Bad News Kangaroos continued their winning spree in the second map of Vertigo with a 13-3 scoreline.
For the second match, Aurora Gaming went against Gods Reign to grab the spot in the grand finale of the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024. Gods Reign started strong as they secured an early 5-1 lead. When it seemed Gods Reign might clench the victory, Aurora Gaming showcased their true self and won back-to-back nine rounds, turning the tables in their favour. Despite Gods Reign’s effort, Aurora Gaming overpowered them and won the map with a 13-6 scoreline. Aurora Gaming was in a scary form as they entered the second map of Mirage. Aurora started securing back-to-back rounds, and Gods Reign looked helpless. Aurora Gaming’s flawless performance resulted in the first 13-0 win of the event.
With the 2-0 victory over Gods reign, Aurora Gaming qualified for the grand finale of the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024. Gods Reign will compete with Bad News Kangaroos in the lower bracket final for the final chance at the grand finale spot and the lion’s share of the $50,000 prize pool.
