Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially shared a huge announcement regarding a cut in its workforce. A recent blog post shared by the company shared the 'difficult' company update, stating that it was an extremely hard decision to plan and commence a reduction of overall headcount. The reduction had an impact of globally 8% and about 900 layoffs as subject to local law and consultation processes.
These layoffs also include employees across the globe and the rest of the Sony studios. The PlayStation maker is not the first gaming sector that has seen a major layoff this year, as studios like Riot Games and Eidos also faced the same fate a few weeks back.
