It has been almost six months since Bethesda launched their most ambitious space epic, Starfield. Since its release, modders have been working rigorously to make the experience more polished, compared to its launch state. The PC version of Starfield has encountered quite a few issues regarding its optimization. With the upcoming FSR 3 support, the title may change that experience for most gamers. Nvidia added their DLSS support to the game in November 2023, now AMD is not far behind by making their entrance with the FSR 3.

Starfield Will Receive Official AMD FSR 3 Support in Upcoming Steam Beta Update
Bethesda's announcement for the Nvidia DLSS was taken positively by the fans, as the tech severely improved the game's performance by a large margin. On Friday, the developers officially shared a post on X, announcing the arrival of AMD FSR 3 in the upcoming Steam Beta update. The technology will be available for all PC gamers later this month and is ahead of Bethesda's scheduled update. The AMD FSR 3 is one of the most praised technologies in the gaming market right now. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Lies of P have seen beneficial upgrades in their performances through FSR 3. The quality setting in FSR offers a massive boost in performance while also maintaining clean visuals by upscaling the graphics.
As Starfield has seen its fair share of broken physics in-game, the upcoming update can be a total game-changer for PC players. AMD's Fidelity FX Super Resolution 3, better known as the FSR 3 is an exceptional upscaling technology that goes toe-to-toe with Nvidia's DLSS. The tech is highly recommended for gamers running Starfield on a slightly older system, as the FSR 3 can greatly improve frame rates. The performance setting can also be a lifesaver for those trying to push maximum frames on their systems; however, at the cost of a slight visual downgrade.
AMD's Fluid Motion Frames is a software-based tech that works differently compared to the Frame Generation tech of Nvidia. It does not require dedicated hardware and greatly improves visual fluidity by inserting frames between frames. After FSR 3's release in December 2023, gamers had a sigh of relief as most new games slowly started receiving the support of AMD's new technology, improving the experience for a wide range of audiences. Fast forward to February 2024, and gamers are looking forward to playing Starfield with FSR 3 to get the most out of it on PC. The new update will also bring a new change regarding FormIDs which will improve stability for saves when visiting many locations in the game.
