Just a week ago, one of the main players of Global Esports Phoenix was dismissed for multiple instances of account sharing. This happened just a week before GEX was scheduled to play the first off-season event and since GE had also let go of Hyphae, the roster came down to just four players. Ending everyone's anticipation, Global Esports announced today that Swayambika 'Sway' Sachar will be stepping in as the fifth player to ensure the roster's participation in the EMG Pro League OFF//SEASON South Asia.

Sway Subs In As Fifth For Global Esports Phoenix
Sway, a popular content creator and ex-professional player for Orangutan, has stepped in to fill in the shoes of Abisha 'Baila' Joseph, who was released from the team last week for sharing her Valorant account. This was an emergency substitution as GEX was down to a 4-woman roster after letting Hyphae go. The other four players in the roster are:
- Keerti "KiRi" Mirani
- Saloni "Meow16K" Pawar
- Akanksha "Muffinloop" Sukhramani
- Syeeda "Rose" Tabassum
GEX has also qualified for the main event of VCT Game Changers APAC Elite, which means they'll soon need to find a permanent replacement for Baila or keep Sway as their substitute.
Sway is one of the most popular female esports athletes in India, proving her worth in both Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. She has played and performed in a number of tournaments for Orangutan X and recently represented Indian CS:GO at the international level at IESF, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
At EMG Pro-League South Asia, there are two groups, and surprisingly, GEX is placed in the same group as Orangutan and the first match they play is against each other. It will be quite interesting for audiences to see Sway compete against her former organization. Their group consists of two more teams: Team Sarafa and True Rippers. The winner of the tournament will get to compete against the other regions in a LAN tournament in Dubai.
