Team Spirit Secures DreamLeague S21 Victory Over Shopify Rebellion
During Game 1, Team Spirit went for a Phantom Lancer in their last pick which reduced the team's early game performance. Shopify had a strong draft and only needed to shut down PL to win the matchup. However, Spirit fed Arteezy enough kills to snowball and carry in the last few moments of the game. As a carry hero, Phantom Lancer has immense potential to turn the tables. A 30k gold lead could not secure Shopify their first game as Spirit ended up snatching the victory in 68 minutes.
In Game 2, Shopify went for an interesting pick as they chose a last pick Earthshaker. Although Shopify had a stable draft throughout the matches, Spirit countered them in every way possible. In the mid-lane, Spirit's Kunka took down Earthshaker, thanks to brilliant rotations from their Support player. Although both the teams found themselves good openings to initiate team fights, Spirit's incredible item timings secured them their second game in just 39 minutes. By the third game, Spirit already had the confidence and momentum from the last two games.
For the third game, the team centered around a strong, tanky draft which made things even worse for Shopify. Within 34 minutes, Spirit took the final game for themselves and secured their tournament win. Arteezy had a relatively subpar performance as he ended up with a 1-6-7 KDA. However, fans can still look forward to both teams participating in the upcoming The International 12.
