Dieversity Esports Defeated Slay Them With Respect In The First Quarterfinals Game Of The Arena Championship
Day 1 of The Arena Championship by Comic Con India and The Esports Club featured the first quarterfinals game between Dieversity Esports and Slay Them With Respect (STWR). After showcasing their potential in the open qualifier rounds, it was the final game between them and the LAN playoffs in Hyderabad. The quarterfinals were a best-of-three matchup, with Dieversity starting the series by banning the map of Lotus, followed by the Sunset ban by STWR.
For the first map, Dieversity picked the map of Split, with STWR opting to start the game on the Defence side. While Dieversity started strong, STWR gave their opponent a tough competition. Shadow and Heeman from Dieversity nullified STWR's defence in the first half, helping them secure an early lead of 7-5. Both teams traded alternate rounds in the second half, but Dieversity ended the map on a high note to win the Split with a 13-11 scoreline.
With the LAN ticket on the line, the second map of Breeze was STWR's do-or-die map in The Arena Championship. STWR decimated Dieversity on their attack and secured a 7-5 lead in the first half. While it seemed that STWR would replicate Dieversity's performance from the first map, Dieversity hit the gas pedal in the second half to win seven back-to-back rounds, helping them reach a 12-7 scoreline. After giving away two rounds in the second half, Dieversity eliminated STWR from the tournament to become the first team to qualify for The Arena Championship.
Dieversity Esports will be joined by three other teams playing the subsequent quarterfinals game. Here is the schedule for the rest of the quarterfinals of The Arena Championship.
