Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, will host the LAN playoffs of the event on 27 January and 28 January 2024. GGEZ Defeated Haryana Grande In The Third Quarterfinals Of The Arena Championship By Comic Con India And The Esports Club
The third quarterfinals began with GGEZ taking charge of the first map of Icebox. On Icebox, GGEZ guarded their defences efficiently to win and secure an early lead of 8-4 by the end of the first half. Haryana Grande tried their best to make a comeback as they won five back-to-back rounds, but GGEZ was the one to finish the game with a 13-10 scoreline.
While the second map of Ascent looked like a close game, both the teams took turns to win back-to-back rounds. Haryana Grande won five back-to-back rounds in the first half, followed by GGEZ, who won the other seven rounds. The second half also witnessed mini-win streaks from both teams, pushing the game into overtime. Haryana Grande ensured to win the subsequent rounds to keep themselves alive in the tournament. Haryana Grande snatched the map of Ascent from GGEZ by winning it with a 14-12 scoreline.
After their defeat in the second map, GGEZ were in no mood to lose their final qualification chance. GGEZ started strong in the first half, securing a considerable lead of 9-3. Haryana Grande seemed to have triggered the 9-3 curse by winning four back-to-back rounds in the second half, but GGEZ bounced back to win the map with a 13-8 scoreline and the quarterfinals with a 2-1 scoreline.
GGEZ will feature in the LAN playoffs, which will take place at Hitex Convention Centre, Hyderabad. Alongside GGEZ, Dieversity Esports and Van Dijk Fan Club will fly to Hyderabad for the playoffs, fighting for the lion's share of the Rs. 3,00,000 prize pool. The fourth quarterfinal game will decide the last semifinals between Fire5 Esports and Jai Jhakan on 20 January 2024.
