On the first day of The Arena at Hyderabad Comic Con, Van Dijk Fan Club met GGEZ in the first semifinal, whereas Jai Jhaka went against Dieversity Esports in the second semifinal game. The top four teams are fighting for the lion's share of the Rs. 3,00,000 prize pool.
In the double-elimination LAN playoffs, GGEZ grabbed the victory over Van Dijk Fan Club, whereas Jai Jhakan overwhelmed Dieversity Esports in the second semifinal with a 2-1 scoreline. Jai Jhakan Defeated Dieversity Esports In The Second Semifinal Of The Arena Championship
In the second semifinal, the series began with Dieversity Esports' pick of Bind, with Jai Jhakan starting on defence. Dieversity Esports showcased their domination from the start as they grabbed the first half in their favour with an 8-4 scoreline. Despite Jai Jhakan's resistance, Dieversity consolidated their lead and converted into their victory with a 13-8 scoreline.
In the second game of Icebox, Jai Jhakan ensured not to give away heavy leads to their opponents. It looked like Dieversity Esports might win the series after the scoreline read 7-5 in their favour, but Jai Jhakan showed resilience. Jai Jhakan destroyed Dieversity by winning back-to-back eight rounds in the second half and taking the map of Icebox with them.
The map of Split was the decider of the second semifinals. While the scores were tied, Jai Jhakan's momentum from the second game was visible. None of the teams were ready to give up. It was visible with the equal scoreline of 6-6 after the first half. While Dieversity had multi-fraggers in their squad, the consistent performance from all the Jai Jhakan players helped them defeat Dieversity Esports with a 13-10 scoreline, helping them secure a grand finals slot.
Jai Jhakan will play their final game against GGEZ, while Dieversity Esports will meet Van Dijk Fan Club for the third-place matchup on 28 January 2024 at Hyderabad Comic Con.
