Clips of Destructive 5 Potentially Hacking In Skyesports Masters Café Qualifiers Arise
Indian Counter-Strike is suspected to be riddled with hackers once again. A group of five Counter-Strike players – Sam, Em0, Wuzz, Pexxer, and Juvenn won the Skyesports Café Qualifiers under the banner of Destructive 5. They had put up a phenomenal performance during the Grand Finals against Team Wasted Potential with players like Sam and Em0 dropping 30+ kills.
Things started heating up when a Twitter account by the name of “SamX” started posting questionable clips of the tournament matches from Destructive 5. The poster raised their concerns about the plays made by Destructive 5 and tagged Skyesports CEO, Shiva Nandy in it. Since bypassing FaceIt Anti Cheat is not a big challenge for hackers, fans have been urging Tournament Organizers to maintain competitive integrity with stronger anti-cheats like Akros.
Other professional Counter-Strike players in the country started raising their voices as well. Some of the players claimed that Destructive 5 got brutally smashed in scrims, showing no signs of improvement and that the sudden turnaround of events, in official online matches was a bit shady.
The Indian Counter-Strike scene was dealt a huge blow at Zowie's Extremeland 2018. Since the forsaken incident, none of the international organizations showed interest in investing in the Indian talent pool. Tournaments, events, and the domestic scene as a whole came to a halt after the incident. It has left a very negative impact on the Indian competitive gaming community, the consequences of which are felt to date. If convicted, the Destructive 5 incident could hurt the scene even further.
