Valve has been working on their upcoming third-person hero shooter game since 2018, but fans still needed to learn about the game. Valve Deadlock's Hero Gabe Follower Leaked Amidst The Closed Alpha Playtest
Thanks to the verified screenshots by Gabe Follower, fans got a slight hint about the game Deadlock. Gabe shared a significant screenshot of the hero, Grey Talon. Grey Talon is an archer who is proficient in delivering long-range skill shots. He has four abilities, and fans can expect the same with the other heroes as well. Here is the in-game description of the hero Grey Talon.
A cunning predator, Grey Talon uses a combination of deadly accuracy, traps, and clever positioning to bring down the toughest opponents.
Apart from the hero details, Gabe shared a gameplay screenshot, which confirms that Deadlock will be a 6v6 third-person shooter game, and Deadlock is working at least 12 different heroes. The 6v6 battle will take place on a large map with four different lans, which are called transit lines. The transit lines are similar to skyhooks from Bioshock Infinite and can be used to move quickly across the map.
Other than Lanes, the "Getting Started" screenshot mentions other elements of the game, like Troopers, Guardians, Walkers, and Base. Troopers, Guardians, and Walkers might hint towards the different classes of the heroes.
Tyler mentioned that Ice Frog has been responsible for the entire development of the game. He also shares that Deadlock is the same as the previously rumoured games Neon Prime and Citadel. According to Tyler, Valve has shared access to the Closed Alpha Playtest with hundreds of players, which hints that the game might be in the final phase of development.
