Naman "Mortal" Mathur Starting his Journey as a YouTuber and The OG Clutch
Before the launch of PUBG Mobile, Mortal was a big-time Mini Militia player and used to share his gameplay on YouTube in 2016. Over two years, he continued creating YouTube content for fun, and when PUBG Mobile came in 2018, he started creating gaming tutorials. It wasn't until October 2018 when Mortal shared his clutch under the name "Every PUBG player will watch this Ending," as the video went viral, a new chapter was about to start in his life.
Dominating Indian PUBG Mobile Esports in 2019 and Representing India Internationally
After the clip went viral, Mortal became a big name in Indian Gaming Community, and fans couldn't wait for him to play in an official tournament. The day wasn't far as Mortal, Owais, Ronak and Viper participated in the PUBG Mobile India Series 2019 as Team Soul. The fan-favourite team went on to win the tournament in a dominating style. Mortal was the tournament's highlight with his famous "30 Lakh Nade Kill."
Later Mortal and Team Soul participated in PUBG Mobile Club Open - Spring Split and qualified for the PMCO Global Finals. Out of the 16 teams, Team Soul was the only Indian team, and they secured 12th position with one Chicken Dinner. Mortal also won The PMCO 2019 Website Fan Favorite Player Award, showcasing his popularity all around the globe.
After PMCO 2019 Spring Split, Mortal decided to step down from esports and wanted to focus on content creation. The news shattered all his fans, who wanted to see him back on stage. Soon, Mortal announced his return and played the PMCO 2019 Fall Split, where Team Soul, with the new lineup, secured the 2nd spot and a ticket to PMCO 2019 Fall Split Grand Finals. It was Mortal's second international appearance, and he did not disappoint his fans as he won a legendary heal battle on the map of Vikendi in the PMCO Global Finals.
Mortal's Journey as a Content Creator and Co-Owner of S8UL
After the PMCO Fall Split, Mortal switched to content creation and looked after his organisation, S8UL, with his partners Animesh "Thug" Agarwal and Lokesh "Goldy" Jain. In September 2020, when PUBG Mobile was banned, Mortal explored various other games like Subnautica, GTA 5 Role Play and Propnight, and the audience loved his content. With the return of BGMI, Mortal streams BGMI consistently, alongside other multiplayer games, helping him cater for a large audience.
Recently, Mortal has been nominated twice at Esports Awards under the "Streamer of the Year" category, and last year in 2022, S8UL won the "Content Group of the Year" award at Esports Awards. In the first-ever Mobies Award 2023, S8UL won the "GLOBAL IMPACT ON MOBILE GAMING" Honour award. For the 2023 Esports Awards, Mortal has been nominated for the "Esports Personality of the Year" award.
Mortal and S8UL Hosting India's Biggest Gaming and Esports Festival: S8UL Gaming Festival
After breaking all records, Mortal and S8UL decided to set new milestones by organising the S8UL Gaming Festival in July 2023. At the S8UL Gaming Festival, all the top S8UL creators celebrated the gaming festivities with their fans. Team Gossip also got to interact with Mortal at the S8UL Gaming Festival.
With over 13,000 attendees and 200 Million impressions on social media, S8UL Gaming Festival became India's biggest-ever gaming event. Mortal has over 7 Million Subscribers on his YouTube Channel and is the only esports personality in India to be nominated thrice at Esports Awards. He has been an inspiration to many aspiring content creators and esports players.
