The Indian Gaming Community is in shock after the rumours that the most successful Valorant team in South Asia, Orangutan Gaming, plans to exit Valorant surfaced online. Orangutan Gaming is an Indian esports organisation with a portfolio spanning across titles like Valorant, BGMI, Free Fire and Pokemon Unite. When it comes to their Valorant performance, Orangutan Gaming has won several tournaments like Valorant Challengers League: South Asia, EMG Series: South Asia, Acer India Predator League and TEC Challengers Series: Valorant OFF//Season.
Orangutan Gaming participated in Game Changers 2023: Pacific and was one of the top teams in the circuit. After their early departure from Game Changers 2023 Asia Pacific: Elite, Orangutan parted ways with their Game Changers lineup. According to speculations, Orangutan might be leaving Valorant once and for all after a low ROI with their Valorant lineups.

Orangutan Gaming To Leave Valorant Esports After Their Successful Run In South Asia
Orangutan Gaming is considered one of the top Valorant teams in South Asia, but despite their efforts, they failed to perform on the international stage. In June 2023, Orangutan Gaming went against Reckoning Esports in the Valorant Challengers Series: South Asia. The team won the grand finals with a 3-2 scoreline, and with that victory, Orangutan booked their slot for the VCT Pacific: Ascension. While Orangutan Gaming proved to be the best in South Asia, they found it difficult to fight against the Pacific teams. During the VCT Pacific: Ascension Group stages, Orangutan lost all four games and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
After their loss, Orangutan made changes to their roster, and their current lineup consists of Antidote, Azys, Frostmind and Rawfuil. With the new lineup, Orangutan won back-to-back tournaments, including The Esports Club Challengers Series: Valorant OFF//Season and Acer India Predator League. In the Acer India Predator League, Orangutan won against True Rippers in the LAN finals and booked their slot for APAC Predator League 2024 in Manila, Philippines.
After winning the Acer India Predator League, Antidote shares his thought process in an interview with Gossip.gg. He said:
It (APAC Predator League 2024) will be a redemption arc for Orangutans and myself because the last time we visited a foreign country, we lost and we all disappointed our Indian fans. This time, it will be a redemption arc /and we will try to win and get some good games under us.
As of now, it is uncertain whether Orangutan Gaming's Valorant lineup will get disbanded and will the team play the APAC Predator League 2024 under Orangutan or without any organisation.
