While Sony is making changes to the existing PlayStation 5, fans are waiting for them to announce the PlayStation 5 Pro. According to the rumours, PS5 Pro might launch at the end of 2024, around November. In the meantime, many leaks related to PS5 Pro's specifications have leaked. Recently, RedGamingTech shared more information on the specifications of PlayStation 5 Pro. According to the leak by RedGamingTech, the PlayStation 5 Pro will come with an 8C custom CPU based on Zen 2 architecture, which will run in the low 4GHz range.
Apart from the CPU, the leak suggested that PS5 Pro's GPU will be based on AMD's third-generation RDNA (Radeon DNA) architecture (RDNA 3) with 60 compute units running at 2500-2800 MHz and 16GB GDDR6 memory at 18000MT/s. PlayStation fans are more concerned about the CPU architecture as the leaks suggest that fans won't witness any upgrade in terms of CPU from the base model even by the end of 2024.

Leaks About The Specification Of The Upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro Circulates
Previously, a famous leaker who goes by the name Kepler had an exciting conversation about the CPU. One of his followers commented that he expected a PS5 Pro's chip to be built on a 3nm process node (N3P). After knowing that Sony won't be using N3P for PlayStation 5 Pro, he stated, "Really? That would honestly be a shame, I was expecting 3nm for a late-2024 device. So N4E, maybe? Or a chiplet APU using multiple processes?" Replying to the fans, Keplar says:
N4P most likely. There isn't much difference in power/perf anyway; N3E is mostly about logic density (which is offset by the increased wafer cost).
A few months back, Tom Henderson shared information on the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, suggesting that the PS5 Pro will have accelerated ray tracing capabilities and can run games in 8K in Performance mode and improved performance at 4K resolution.
As the launch of PlayStation 5 Pro is more than a year away, it is difficult to pinpoint the correct specifications. Sony is testing the different variants for the upcoming console, which might see an upgrade from the base model, PS5.
Last week, Sony announced the slimmer PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition, with an additional Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and an increased 1TB SSD. Players can install the Ultra HD Blue-ray Disc Drive separately for 79.99 USD after purchasing PS5 Digital Edition. The newer PS5 models are slimmer, with more than 30% reduction in volume. With the revised pricing, the slimmer PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will be released in November 2023.
